Entrance Assessment Information

20-January-25

20th January 2025.

Dear parent/guardian,

The entrance assessment for incoming first years takes place next Saturday the 25th January 2025. Students are divided up into groups of approximately 20 and there will be two or three teachers in each room to assist them. The assessment is completed online and will be split into 4 sections. Students are required to bring ear/headphones with them that have a normal sound jack (not a usb).

The assessment is similar to the standardised assessments that take place at the end of each school year in primary school. It is important to note that we understand that students are often nervous about these assessments. The results are just a snapshot of one moment and are only to give us an idea as how we can best support each students learning.

The morning will be divided up as follows:

Arrive: 8.45

Session 1: 9.00 to 10.00

Short comfort break: 10.00 – 10.05

Session 2: 10.10 – 10.55

Break: 10.55 – 11.10 – Snack provided

Session 3 : 11.10 – 11.55

Short comfort break: 11.55 – 12.00

Session 4: 12.05 – 12.50

An information talk will also take place for parents and guardians that morning at 11.50 sharp. Parents and guardians are invited to come and meet with members of the parents association and have a cup of coffee and a chat at 11.30, in advance of the talk.

Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you have any questions or concerns.

We are really looking forward to meeting you all this Saturday and welcoming you to our school community.

Yours sincerely,

Damien Cloney

Principal.
