This is a very exciting time for Junior Cycle students. The Department of Education and Skills is currently rolling out the new Junior Cycle and Glenart College is delighted to be engaging with this. The new programme is being introduced on a phased basis and most subjects the New Junior Cycle applies. The new Junior Cycle subjects incorporates continuous assessment will have a classroom based assessment in 2nd & 3rd year with a assessment task in 3rd year that makes up 10% of the overall Junior Cycle mark. Students will also receive a Junior Cycle Certificate of Achievement that will outline their achievements over the three years. Students will also be able to choose from a range of short courses. The college is one of only 50 schools nationwide offering Coding as a Junior Cycle subject.

All of our Junior Cycle students participate in the Junior Certificate Schools Programme (JCSP) which is a curriculum focused programme that assists students by establishing clear goals that must be achieved. We then monitor and celebrate our students achievement of those goals over the three years.
